This program introduces students with an interest in 2D design, coding and game design to the GDevelop 5 game engine. Gdevelop5 is a powerful set of tools that makes use of event based coding, a half-way point between block-code and traditional text-based code. In this program, students will explore the GDevelop5 toolset, practice building code solutions to drive game features, and finally create their own game.
Our GDevelop Game Design World program is designed for students who are comfortable with online learning, have some tech experience and who wish to learn more game design tools techniques and terminology.
In this program students learn the easy-to-use and powerful 2D, cross-platform open-source game engine, Gdevelop. Packed full of features to learn and combine to build games, 'GDev' is a unique and easy way to design game concepts, emphasizing an event system. Events are a powerful way to express the logic of a game without using a programming language. Students' games created with GDevelop can be published to Android, Apple iOS, Facebook Gaming, Steam and more!
By the end of the program, students understand essential concepts including coordinate planes, variables and coding logic in game design. Furthermore, we review our projects, the build process, planning methods and the games' User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) so students can discuss what makes a well-designed game, and where we can iterate and improve.
A sample activity for this program would have students complete an endless game, similar to Google's dinosaur runner game. Students will model their own characters for their game, and learn the code solutions and other development tricks used to make a game appear to run ‘endlessly’.
Experience a 1:1 session for FREEIn this program, children will master the fundamentals of Roblox Studio, learning 3D design and Lua coding. This hands-on experience will turn them into skilled game creators, ready to develop their unique games on Roblox Studio.
This program guides your child through the intricate workflow of 3D design using Blender. They will become proficient with the Blender platform, creating stunning 3D art and design projects.
Ignite your child's curiosity in tech with this introductory program. Covering remote learning, typing, and block coding, we utilize Scratch, TypingClub, and Zoom platforms to start their tech journey on a strong note.
